Editing a smart campaign (duplicate to customize)

Simple Downline comes with campaigns we've already written and scheduled, so most of the sending happens without you building anything. If you want to add your own touch, like a signature close-off or a short personal note, you can, but you make the change on a copy rather than the original.

Why you duplicate instead of edit

Smart campaigns can't be edited directly. To change one, you make a copy and edit that. Duplicating turns the original off so the two don't run at the same time, and the copy turns on and sends automatically just like the original did.

Make an editable copy

  1. Open Campaigns and tap the smart campaign you want to change.
  2. Tap the three dots in the top right.
  3. Choose Duplicate.

The copy lands in the Custom tab. Open it there to add your signature close-off or a personal message, then save.

A note on personalization

To drop in a contact's name, use the Add Personalization button under the message body so the tag goes in correctly. The name tag is {{contactFirstName}}.

A note on credits

A longer message can run into using more than 1 credit per message. A text message has a limit of 160 characters, which is what 1 credit covers, and we try to stay within that limit to keep your cost down. So adding a signature or a personal note can cost a little more per send. It's worth keeping that in mind if you have a large list.
