Tips Opt-In vs Tips: how the tips keyword and toggle work

If you see "Tips Opt-In" in your upcoming sends but the "Tips" campaign isn't toggled on, you're looking at two different things. Here's how they fit together.

Two separate campaigns

Tips Opt-In is the invitation text. It asks your contacts to reply if they want tips. It has no keyword of its own.

Tips is the campaign that sends the actual tips messages. It has the keyword "tips" on it.

What happens when someone replies "tips"

When a contact replies with the keyword "tips," that starts the Tips campaign for that person, and they begin receiving the tips messages on the schedule you see under the campaign.

For those messages to go out, the Tips campaign has to be toggled on (the green switch). If it's off, replies won't start anything.

Turning Tips on won't send a duplicate opt-in

The opt-in text never sends to the same person twice. Anyone who already got it is skipped, so turning Tips on now will not re-send the opt-in to your list.

So you're safe to turn Tips on. It doesn't touch the opt-in, it just lets the people who reply "tips" start receiving the tips.
