Importing and refreshing contacts after setup
After you've finished setup, you can still import contacts from a CSV file or refresh your Young Living data anytime. Here's how to do both.
Refreshing your Young Living contacts
Your contacts sync automatically from Young Living in the background. New enrollments appear within a day or two. If something looks out of date:
- Open the Home tab
- Look for the Last synced timestamp
- If you see a banner saying "Your data needs to be refreshed," tap Refresh Now
The refresh pulls the latest data from Young Living and updates your contact list. This includes new members, rank changes, order history, and contact information.
Importing contacts from a CSV
If you have contacts in another texting service (like Project Broadcast) or a spreadsheet, you can import them after setup:
- Tap More in the bottom navigation
- Tap Import
- Choose your CSV file, or tap I don't have a CSV file to review only your older Life Steps contacts
- If you chose a file, select any tags that mean the contact opted in to Tips, then tap Upload to see what the app found
The review screen separates Life Steps and CSV contacts. The CSV section shows:
- Prospects — contacts without a Young Living member number
- Inactive Members — contacts with a member number who aren't currently in your active downline
- Tips — contacts whose CSV tags match the Tips opt-in tags you selected
Review the counts and check the CSV categories you want to import. They start unchecked. Before tapping Import, also check any Life Steps categories you want to keep. Unchecked Life Steps categories are archived when you confirm the import.
What gets imported
The CSV importer recognizes these fields when they are present:
- Name, email, phone, and Young Living member number
- Company, city, state, and notes
- Tags, plus Text and Email opt-out settings when the CSV includes those fields
Other custom CSV columns are not imported. The app matches rows to existing contacts by member number, email, or phone. Matched contacts are not added again; their CSV tags and opt-out settings can be carried over, but this import does not replace their other contact details.
Life Steps cleanup
If you previously used Life Steps, the import screen also shows options to clean up that data:
- Inactive Members from Life Steps — members who are no longer in your active downline
- Prospects from Life Steps — manually-added contacts from your Life Steps account
Checked means keep those existing Life Steps contacts. Unchecked means archive that category when you tap Import. Both Life Steps boxes start unchecked, so review them before confirming, including when you have no CSV file.
If you don't have a CSV file
Tap I don't have a CSV file to skip the upload and review the Life Steps categories. Nothing changes until you tap Import on the review screen. If you do, unchecked Life Steps categories are archived.
