Notifications and push alerts

Simple Downline sends push notifications to your phone when you receive a new text or email from a contact. Here's how they work and how to make sure you don't miss messages.

What triggers a notification

You'll get a push notification when:

  • A contact texts your Simple Downline number — someone replies to a campaign or sends you a message
  • A contact emails you — an email comes in to your Simple Downline inbox

Notifications are for inbound messages only. You won't get notified when:

  • Your campaigns send messages (those are outbound)
  • Someone on your team enrolls a new member
  • Activity happens on the Home tab

The idea is simple: notifications tell you when someone is trying to reach you.

Enabling notifications

When you first open the app after logging in, it asks for permission to send notifications. Tap Allow to turn them on.

If you accidentally denied permission or want to check your settings:

On iPhone

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Scroll down and tap Simple Downline
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Make sure Allow Notifications is on
  5. Choose your alert style, sounds, and badges

On Android

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Apps or Applications
  3. Find and tap Simple Downline
  4. Tap Notifications
  5. Make sure notifications are enabled

The red badge (unread count)

On iPhone, the app icon can show a number badge for unread messages. Make sure badges are enabled in your iPhone notification settings for Simple Downline.

On Android, a number on the home-screen icon is not always available. Some launchers (especially Samsung) can show a count; Pixel and many stock Android phones usually do not. You may still see a notification dot while a push is in the notification shade. If there's no badge, check whether the notification itself arrived.

Notifications not arriving?

If you're not getting notifications, check these common issues:

Battery optimization (Android)

Many Android phones have aggressive battery-saving features that can stop apps from receiving notifications in the background.

Samsung: Go to Settings → Apps → Simple Downline → Battery → choose "Unrestricted" instead of "Optimized"

Other Android: Look for "Battery optimization," "Sleeping apps," or "Background restrictions" in your settings and make sure Simple Downline is allowed to run in the background.

Do Not Disturb

Check that Do Not Disturb mode isn't silencing your notifications. You can often allow specific apps through DND in your phone's settings.

App permissions

Make sure Simple Downline has notification permission enabled. On both iPhone and Android, go to your phone's Settings, find the app, and verify notifications are allowed.

Try logging out and back in

Sometimes the notification connection needs a refresh. Log out of the app, close it completely, then log back in. This re-registers your device for push notifications.

Web app

The web app at app.simpledownline.com does not support push notifications. Notifications only work on the iPhone and Android apps.
