Welcome - New vs Welcome - Existing: which to pick
During setup you choose one of two welcome messages. This is the first message your contacts get, so it's worth picking the one that fits your situation.
The difference
- Welcome - New introduces you fresh, as if your contacts are hearing from you for the first time.
- Welcome - Existing is for people who already text their team somewhere else (like Project Broadcast). It tells your contacts you've moved to a new number so they know it's still you.
If you've texted your team before and many of them already have your number, Welcome - Existing is usually the better fit. Some contacts who are newer to you might feel more like "New," and that's okay, one message goes to your welcome list.
What the welcome message does
The welcome message sends one time, the day after signup, and always goes out first before your other campaigns. It lets contacts know they'll be hearing from you and gives them a way to opt out. After that they start getting your regular campaigns.
It never sends to the same person twice, so anyone who already got it is skipped.
How to switch
Just reply and let us know you'd like to switch to the other one, and we'll change it for you.
You can also open your welcome message to review it: tap Campaigns, open the Custom tab, then open Welcome.
