Writing your welcome message

The welcome message is the first thing your downline gets from you through Simple Downline. It sets the tone for every conversation that follows, so make it warm, brief, and in your own voice. You write it once during setup and we handle the rest.

When it sends

Your welcome text is scheduled to go out the day after you finish setup. You can edit it any time before it goes out.

Writing it

Welcome Message screen with New Introduction and Existing Team options and a message preview
Choose New Introduction or Existing Team, then edit the message that loads in the preview.

The screen asks you to choose a welcome message based on your situation. New Introduction is for contacts you haven't reached out to yet, and Existing Team is for contacts who already know you. Selecting one loads its text into the editable preview, where you can change anything you want. The preset text already includes personalization like the contact's first name and your own name, and we fill those in for each recipient automatically. Keep it short and personal so it feels like a friend reaching out. A good welcome answers three things fast: who you are, what they can expect from you, and how to opt out if they're not interested.

What it looks like to them

On their phone, the welcome message looks like a normal text from your registered number. There's no marketing chrome, no logo, no signature unless you write one. That's the point: it should feel like a friend reaching out, not a broadcast.

Editing later

You can change the welcome message any time before it goes out. The View Welcome Text button on the final setup screen opens your welcome text, which lives under the Custom tab on the Campaigns screen, so you can review or edit it there.
